1.自我介紹
I come from a family with diverse professional backgrounds and multicultural heritage, including doctors, scientists, artists, educators, architects, nurses, bankers, government agents, and entrepreneurs. I graduated from WEGO Bilingual School, the top middle school in Taiwan, and recently completed high school at TFS. I am currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering. My time as a high school student in the US has allowed me to immerse myself in the culture, living with Caucasian "spiritual siblings" who are my father's college friends. Through their guidance, I have become acquainted with the community, attended church services, and learned about Christianity. Their strong faith has had a profound impact on my dedication to my own beliefs and goals.
As one of the few students who drove to school, I was entrusted with my host family's car to visit friends on weekends. Additionally, I served as a multicultural ambassador, showcasing my unique talent for performing magic tricks and sharing my background during International Day at school.
One of the most significant experiences at TFS was my involvement as the lead Programmer and Driver Coach for team 11526 Universal Robotics, competing in the FTC (First Tech Challenge) from 2021-2023. In this role, I designed competition-driven scenarios, developed practice plans, and strategized for the team, allowing us to adapt and perform well even in the absence of team members. These experiences have honed my skills as an independent, adaptable, critical thinker, and active community member, preparing me to collaborate efficiently with my peers and face challenges head-on.
Aside from academics, I am passionate about performing magic tricks, which have enriched my personal growth by building confidence, communication, creativity, and presentation skills. Magic, to me, is about sharing and connecting with others, serving as a universal language that transcends barriers and brings joy and surprise to people's lives.
Given my experiences, I am eager to support and mentor younger students and aspiring young people seeking to study in US high schools and universities. I believe I can provide valuable personal experiences, advice, and guidance to help them improve their skills and academic performance.
